On October 1, 2008, the Senate passed the bailout bill, HR 1474, by 74 to 25. On October 3, 2008, the House passed the bailout bill 263 to 171. President Bush signed it on the same day.
For those that are wondering, here's how the Senate voted and here's how the House voted.
The next few weeks will show whether the bailout bill is the beginning of a solution to the financial crisis of 2008.
