The End of an Era

My parents have always been there for me.   Then six years ago, my dad passed away after six months of complications from pneumonia.   Over the holidays, my mom passed away after an extended time in a nursing home.  I never expected to be without them.

It seems like yesterday that I was a child going to elementary school, high school and then college.  Twenty-seven years at work passed by quickly also.   The time went by too fast.

Now, I will need to carry on without their counsel and guidance.   Fortunately, my parent's values and guidance helped me develop a strong foundation of life and financial skills.  Through my parents, I learned to live below my means, increase my earnings through higher education, and save for retirement as they did successfully. .

I am thankful they were my parents and will miss them very, very much.

I'm sorry to hear of these events in your life. Like you, I also appreciate all that my parents have taught me about life. You are in my thoughts and prayers today.

I am so sorry to hear about the recent passing of your mother. Clearly the values that you've learned from both her and your late father is being passed on to your daughter. That's just one way of honoring them.
